BOOKING & CANCELLATION POLICY

  • A $25 per head fee is due at time of booking. The $25 is applied to your processing invoice.
  • In the event of a cancellation; if cancelled at least 14 days in advance of harvest date, $25 booking fee is fully refunded. If cancelled less than 14 days from harvest date, $25 booking fee is non-refundable.
  • Animals may be booked no more than 1 year in advance of harvest date.


CUTTING POLICY

  • All cutting instructions MUST be submitted prior-to or at time of delivery of livestock.
  • Cutting instructions MUST be on FCB approved cutting instruction forms.
  • Cutting instrucitons can be submitted via phone, email, online, or physical copy.
  • If we have not received cutting instructions by Friday @ 9 am the week of the animal being harvested, Butcher's Choice cutting will be applied.

 

EXTENDED MEAT AGING POLICY

  • Due to space constraints during the peak harvest season (July 1 - December 31), a $200/head fee applies for extended aging (8-14 days). 
  • Extended aging fees do not apply from January 1 - June 30.
  • Standard carcass hang time for beef, bison, & elk is 5-7 days @ 34-36 degrees F.
  • Extended aging MUST be pre-arranged at time of booking.

 

DROP OFF POLICY

During business hours

  • Stop at the office and check in with staff member. You will be assigned a pen; assistance is available during business hours. Animals will be recorded using a Farm country Butchery droр off form, by color/breed and tag number, if animal does not have an ear tag, then a hip tag must be glued on for records. Animals will be unloaded into their designated/assigned pen.

After hours drop off

  • After hours our unload gates will be locked. Any after-hour deliveries must be scheduled in advance. A staff member will give directions to the designated pen and ensure the gate is unlocked for your delivery. The transporter/owner is responsible for filling out paperwork with the animal identification requirements. It is your responsibility when making an after-hour delivery to ensure that your animals
    meet state requirements, which is that they have a source of water. Please double-check the pen for security, safety and water source. We want to make sure your animals are safe and well taken care of. An outdoor cabinet near the unload area will hold check-in forms, hip tags, pen map and drop-off forms.

 

CONDEMNED ANIMAL POLICY

Once an animal has been presented for inspection it cannot be revoked from inspection. If an animal is showing signs of illness, the inspector may retain the animal, call in a USDA veteranarian for a second opinion, as well as take samples to send to a lab for further testing to verify wholesomeness. If an animal is not fit for human consumption, by law, it is condemned and we are required to dispose of it under the supervision of the USDA. The costs associated are incurred to the producer in this process which are bth slaughter and rendering fees. 

  • All applicaable slaughter fees will apply + a $75 per carcass rendering fee.

All reasonable attempts will be made to salvage a carcass or any portion of the carcass that is legal to do so. These are very unfortunate situations, but they do happen and producers should be aware of how they are handled. If you have any questions or concerns, please ask for further details.

 

PRODUCT PICK-UP POLICY

  • All product must be picked up with 7 days of notice.
  • All product and services must be paid for prior to leaving FCB.
  • $10/box storage fee applies for any product left after 7 days from notice unless prior arrangements haave been made with FCB Amin Office.
